The Lite Side
The miniPod and the HiPod
- 2004.01.26
Following on the suggestion by As the Apple Turns in its January 6th edition, I have decided that from now on everything I write about new smaller device will henceforth and forthwith call the small gizmo the "miniPod."
In fact, let's go a step further, and establish the Lite Side's
Writers Who Want to Call the iPod mini the miniPod
We, the undersigned, being of sound if myopic mind and body, do hereby declare that "miniPod" is more mellifluous and rolls off the tongue with a much smoother sounding cadence. Henceforth and forthwith, we, the Ones Who Sign Under, will use the term "miniPod" exclusively when referring to any type of small-sized iPod.
- Jack Miller, site owner and editor, As the Apple Turns (he's been using the term since Dec. 22, 2003)
- Jeff Adkins, writer, Low End Mac.
Please write if you want to join us in this important endeavor.
And then There's the HiPod....
Rememer the calculator company that didn't want that personal computer the two Steves designed? Now they're working with Apple - just look at the new HP-branded iPod.
Don't you think it should be called the "HiPod"? Look at the logic:
- It says "hi" at the beginning, very friendly
- The two capital letters are "HP"
- It preserves the integrity of the iPod brand name, reminding everyone it's an Apple device
