NEC MultiSync 4FGE

Physical Specs and Compatibility

The NEC MultiSync 4FGE is a 7" NuBus card compatible with 68K- and PowerPC-based Macs running up to Mac OS 8.1. It may be compatible with higher versions of the Mac OS but no information for Mac OS 8.5-8.6 is available at this time, and it's doubtful that the card is compatible with Mac OS 9. Anyone with information about this card's compatibility with Mac OS versions above 8.1 is requested to e-mail Chris Lawson with details.

Acceleration/Resolution/Color Support

The card provides standard QuickDraw acceleration. The NEC MultiSync 4FGE supports the following resolutions in 24-bit color:

640 x 480
800 x 600
832 x 624

Other Notes

This is an NEC OEM version of the Radius PrecisionColor Pro 24XP.
Renders on-board Ethernet in Quadra 650 (and probably other Wombat-based Macs) useless. This issue is likely confined to the NEC version of the card and does not affect the Radius.
