Attendees were duped into thinking there would be a flat panel iMac by unsubstantiated rumors. Steve announced faster iMacs and a new faceplate for the G4. OS X 10.1 is not quite ready. Many Mac website columnists went ballistic. Apple's stock price dropped. The mainstream press announced the death of Apple again while extolling the virtues of the unreleased Windows XP. Already rumormongers are saying, wait until Macworld San Francisco in January 2002.
Jeff Adkins is a science teacher who isn't afraid to state his preferences in computing platforms.
