Overview
The iBook got a small speed boost (from 1.2 GHz to 1.33 GHz on the 12" model and from 1.33 GHz to 1.42 GHz on the 14"), double the logic board memory (512 MB vs. 256 MB), added Bluetooth 2.0 as a standard feature, and received improved video with ATI Radeon 9550 graphics with the same 32 MB of video RAM as the previous generation iBook G4. New to the iBook are Apple's scrolling trackpad and the Sudden Motion Sensor.
Maximum RAM is 1.5 GB on the July 2005 models, up from 1.25 GB. There was no Combo drive option for the 14" model.

Cautions
- Portable Computers: Models Which Do Not Have a Backup Battery notes the iBook has no backup battery to retain time and other settings when the main battery is removed. A small capacitor holds enough energy to maintain PRAM contents for 20 seconds, so switch batteries quickly.
